The Compliance department ensures compliance with the laws and regulations applicable to the banking sector, in order to protect the reputation of the bank and its employees. It has full independence and reports directly to the CEO of BNPPF.


As part of Financial Security, the Fiscal Deontology team plays a strategic role in meeting the National Bank's expectations in terms of combating tax fraud, by ensuring the dissemination of exemplary principles of conduct within BNP Paribas Fortis.


Your future job

As Head of Fiscal Deontology:


§ you guarantee the effective implementation of the fiscal prevention policy within the bank and ensure it is constantly updated in light of developments in this area;

§ you monitor the proper implementation of policies relating to international regulations (FATCA/QI, AEOI, DAC6);

§ you take part in reporting exercises relating to tax matters and contribute your specialist expertise to the bank's risk self-assessment exercises (RCSA, EWRA);

§ you supervise the tax inspection system for Compliance, ensuring that the related checks have been carried out correctly and that action plans are defined based on their results;

§ you take on an analytical and advisory role with our Compliance or Business colleagues in particular cases, if there is a suspicion of a tax issue;

§ you follow up on news and projects likely to affect the bank and propose the resulting adjustments.


Your role involves numerous contacts with different stakeholders within the bank (Business, departments, Legal, Tax, etc.) and active participation in meetings and on steering committees.


Within the BNP Paribas Group, you will also be the contact person for BNP Paribas Fortis within the Compliance community with regard to international regulations. You will therefore be required to interact with Group employees and with your counterparts in other Group entities.

Highlight your strengths

§ You have a Master's degree with a specialisation in taxation or equivalent experience.

§ You are fluent in Dutch, French and English.

§ You have a strong risk culture, based on analytical thinking and a lot of common sense.

§ You are proactive and able to work independently and make decisions within a predetermined framework while communicating effectively and without delay with your management.

§ You are extremely skilful at written and oral communication.

§ You place customers (internal and external) at the heart of your concerns and ensure that you take into account everyone's constraints, without compromising your independence or the bank's exemplary handling of tax matters.
